Day TWO...
Wednesday, September 24th, 2003

As Day 2, and the final day, got started, what is a trip without a breakfast at a local Mc Donald's. After that it was back to Miller Park.

This time not for a game, but a tour of the facility. The tour started off at the 300 Club. It is a club where the game can be enjoyed in complete comfort.

After touring the club we were taken further through the suite level of the stadium. Miller Park was constructed in the parking lot of County Stadium, the former stadium. When the old field was destroyed a smaller little league field was built in it's place.

Next, on the tour, we were taken through level 3 to the press area. In the press area we were taken in the main press box, then the broadcast booth of Bob Uecker.

After the press boxes, it was down to the field level. Here we were able to go into the visitors dug out. This is one of the best views of the retractable roofs. That is what makes Miller Park unique.

The visitors dugout. Bernie's Dugout is in the upper right hand corner.

A close-up fo Bernie's Dugout. When the Brewer's hit a home-run, Bernie slides down the slide.
The last place on the tour was the bullpen. The Brewer's bullpen is located behind left field. In left field, there is a manual scoreboard. This keeps track of the other league games going on. In the bullpen you get a great view of the motors used to open and close the roof.

The great people in the Miller Park office told us to park near Miller Park Plaza. The entrance was near right field. It was a long walk.

It was time to head on home. We headed southwest of town and took some local roads on south.

Back to State #1!!...Illinois!!

Now we are back in Illinois. This concludes the last vacation of the year. Where to next year?...we'll see...
