Day SIX...
Friday, April 18th, 2025

Like the last week the day started at the crack of dawn. This was the day to head home. Leaving Hagerstown, Maryland, and head west back to Northern Illinois. Along the path for today there was more winding through the northern parts and backroads of West Virginia. Heading through Western Maryland we followed the Potomac River.

Back to State #6...West Virginia!!

A welcome sign on WB WV 7.

The views in Northern West Virginia was amazing. The roads made their way up and down and across the mountains. Through the valleys, and across the rivers.

As we followed West Virginia 7 across Northeatern West Virginia from the State of Maryland we made our way into Morgantown. As we drove through Morgantown, we discovered this was the home of Don Knotts; or where he was from. After Morgantown, we dropped to Fairmont, then west on U.S. 250 back into the mountains. In the little town of Barrackville, we came across the Historic Barrackville Covered Bridge.

Further down the road as we made it through the mountains of Northern West Virginia, we passed through Mannington, and Hundred, before heading west towards the Ohio River.

We crossed the Ohio River into the State of Ohio at New Martinsville, WV. The welcome sign was blocked by a county sheriff deputy. We headed up Ohio 7 along the Ohio River and enjoyed the nice sunny day.

When we got to near Moundville, WV, we crossed back over into the Mountain State.

As we made our way across Ohio. We took a brief detour off of the Interstate 70 corridor at Columbus. Here we found the Big Lots Behaviour Health Pavilon at the Nationwide Childrens Hospital, and the Wendy's Museum.

After learning some of the history of Wendy's it was time to get back to Interstate 70, and keep going west.

Back to State #2...Indiana!!
