On September 22, 1995 the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Corpation was formed to be the parent company of todays BNSF Railway. The BNSF Railway was however not created until December 31st, 1996 when the Burlington Northern Railroad and the Atchison, Topeka, & Santa Fe Railroad merged to form the Bulington Northern-Santa Fe Railroad. On January 24th, 2005 the name was changed to be the BNSF Railway. BNSF runs trains through the western portions of the United States of America. It is headquarted in Fort Worth, Texas.
