The Detroit & Mackinac Railroad ran from the late 1800's to 1992. It ran from Bay City, Michigan, north along the Lake Huron coast to Cheboygan. Over the years it acquired some lines from the bankrupt Penn Central. In 1992 much of the line was purchased by the Lake State Railway
