Decatur & State Line Railway
The Decatur & State Line Railway was a never completed railroad that was to run from Chicago to Decatur, Illinois. The only known remenat of this railroad to be left is a set of piers in the Kankakee River, west of Bourbonnais, near Warner Bridge Road, at the Kankakee/Will County Line. The line was charted in 1869, but when the Great Chicago Fire struck in 1871, the railroad lost it's fincial backing. Towns along the railroad were to be Bellflower, Farmer City, Saybrook, Chatsworth, Wilton Center.
