Detroit, Toledo & Ironton Railroad
The Detroit, Toledo & Ironton Railroad operated north-south across the State of Michigan and the State of Ohio between 1905 anf 1983. This railroad was formed by the purchase of the Detroit Southern Railroad out of foreclosure. In 1920 is was owned by the Ford Motor Company; before being sold in 1929 to the Pennsylvania Railroad, later being part of the Penn Central Railroad. In 1980, it was acquired by the Grand Trunk Western. In 1983 it was asimilated into the GTW.
