The Kankakee Beaverville & Southern is a short line rail road that runs from Kankakee, IL to Danville, IL. There is another line that runs to Layafette, IN. The company started in 1977 when the Conrail abandon it's ex-New York Central line from Kankakee to Sheldon, IL. Then 80 miles of Chicago Milwaukee St. Paul & Pacific linefrom Donovan to Danville. When the Norfolk Southern abandon the Cheneyville, IL to Layafette, IN line the KBS railroad picked that up.
