The City of Seward is in the Kenai Peninsula. It is named after United State Secretary of State, William Seward. He served for former presidents Abraham Lincoln and Andrew Johnson. William Seward also negotiated the purchase of Alaska from Russia. This is the southern terminus of the Alaska Railroad.
