In 1836, the name was changed to Independance Grove. When the town got it's first post office in 1837, it had the name changed to Libertyville. This was due to another Independance Grove in the state. When Libertyville, became the county seat, briefly in 1839, the name was changed to Burlington. The Milwaukee Road railroad came to town in 1881. |
