The Village of Odin is located along U.S. 50. This is a junction point for the Canadian National Railroad and the CSX Railroad. The junction is in the middle of town. Land from the village came from the Illinois Central Railroad right away. It was situated at the junction of the Illinois Central Railroad and Atlantic, Mississippi, & Ohio Railroad. It was incorporated as a town in 1865. The first port office was built in 1861.
