The Village of Griffith is located in Northwest Indiana. This is in the Guinness Book of World Records for having the most baseball diamonds for its population, and for the most train tracks to intersect at one point. The Michigan Central, Elgin Joliet & Eastern, Erie, Grand Trunk, and Chesapeake & Ohio railroad all have met in the middle of town. It is said that the town is named for a former employee of the Grand Trunk Railroad.
