The City of Grand Rapids is the home of fomrer president Gerald R. Ford. In Downtown Grand Rapids, you can visit the presidental library for him. It is the county seat for Kent County, and the second largest city in the State of Michigan. In 1838 Grand Rapdis was incorpoated as a village. The village voted to become a city in 1850.
