At Joliet, Illinois, Interstate 80 is carried over the Des Plaines River by a pair cantiliever truss bridge. These structures were built in 1965. Each structure are three traffic lanes wide. Both have two through lanes for I-80, and one exit lane for the exits just across the bridge on each side.
