IL St Rt 113 is not multi-plexed with any other highway in Will County. In Braidwood, IL St Rt 113 tends to run into a tight area for traffic. With IL St Rte's 53 & 129 running parralle to each other and the Union Pacific Railroad between the two routes, there is little room for the three intersections. Heading SB on IL St Rt 113 you come to a four-way stop with IL St Rt 129 then 35 feet after the intersection is the UPRR. About 100 feet after that is another four-way stop with IL St Rt 53. All three routes tend to jam up several times a day. Truck traffic has been pulled off IL St Rt 113 from the Coal City Road/Division Street corner, on the northwest side of Braidwood. Trucks are routed straight east on Coal City Road to IL St Rt 129. Then IL St Rt 129 south to IL St Rt 113. In the summer of 2008, the Illinois Department of Transportation started a two year reconsturction project of the intersections on IL St Rt 113 with IL St Rt 129, Union Pacific railroad, and IL St Rt 53. This has lead to numours lane closures, traffic lights being installed, turn lanes installed, a two week closure of the Union Pacific crossing, and widening of all three state routes. During the closure of the rail crossing, traffic was diverted north on IL St Rt 129 to Coal City Road. Then send back south on IL St Rt 53 to IL St Rt 113 for eastbound traffic. Westbound traffic was sent the other way. Due to the tight turn to and from Coal City Road and IL St Rt 53, truck traffic was sent up IL St Rt 129 to I-55, instead of down Coal City Road. Once on I-55 truck traffic exited on River Road (Exit 241) to IL St Rt 53. Eastbound traffic was sent back the same way.
