At Mottville, U.S. Rt. 12 crosses the St Joseph River, just west of the intersection with Michigan State Route 103. Sitting just north of the U.S. Rt. 12 bridge over the St. Joseph River is the previous bridge. The former bridge dates back to 1922, and is the longest within the State of Michigan of the camelback-reinforced concrete bridge. Today the bridge is closed to vechile traffic.
