U.S. Federal Route 1 runs across Washington D.C. from the Virginia Line, at Arlington, to the Maryland Line, near Brentwood. It starts along 14th Street SW and heads toward Constitution Avenue NW. Then moves to 9th Street SW and 6th Street SW. To goto Maryland, U.S. Rt. 1 joins Rhode Island Avenue NE.
