Day TWO...
Saturday, May 15th, 2004

Bright and early in the morning...ok more like 9 a.m. It was time to load a apartment into a U-Haul. Only one problem...we didn't have the U-Haul yet. Plus, we were still at the hotel.

The sign of the fine Choice Hotel we stayed at.

The hotel was on the Westmoreland County side of the Allegheny River. Here is the view across the river.
We all loaded into the tahoe and headed to pick up the U-Haul in Murrysville. It was located a a U-Haul place that rented long distance, local travel, filled propane tanks, and sold boxes. It was all ran by one short, high tempered guy, with no people skills. Oh and his trucks were crap.

The U-Haul we got.

See crap.

After a filling breakfast at a local Mc Donald's it was back to packing. But we relized we need more totes. Back to the local K-Mart.

It's a good thing they're strapped in.

With those prices business must really be hoppin'.

So our target was the whole apartment in three hours. We had a U-Haul, a dumpster, and tote. With windows taken our there was two places that items went. We ened up missing our target by 30 minutes. But, the U-Haul and Tahoe was loaded so all three vehicals set out for Illinois. Before we jumped on the Pennsylvania Turnpike we stopped to fill the vehicals up at a Exxon and ourselfes at a Wendy's.

Even though we didn't find any old KFC signs, we found a old Wendy's sign.

The bus never came the entire time we ate our dinner. Sucks to be them.

The quickest way to Illinois was across the turnpike. It was fast and hilly. The rain of the weekend started to catch up with us.

The Beaver Valley Toll Plaza on WB I-76/PA Turn.

Back to State #3!!
Ohio was mostly rain and driving along the Ohio Turnpike. We stopped at the first service plaza across the state line for a break.

Besides almost falling off...the wheel kept spinning...
Ohio again was long, and flat. The rain didn't help much for entertainment. What did help for entertainment was watching the U-Haul cut off a charter bus then the bus driver try to get revenge on the U-Haul.

You can only wonder what the bus driver was thinking...

WB I-80/OH Turn at the Cuyahoga River.
The U-Haul was the first of the motor caragies to run low on fuel. So we exited the Ohio Turnpike near Sandusky to find services. Being this close to Sandusky we decided to see how the tin hut of CCU-Sandusky was doing. Full pictures are located on the "4-States, 2-Day, and America Junior!" trip.

CCU-Sandusky.

The pizza place is now open...must have fixed the heat problem.
Then it was on to a quick view of Lake Erie then along a long dark road to Toledo. This is where we decided to stop for the night. Now the State of Ohio would have one more racoon to their racoon population, but thanks to the U-Haul...thats not the case...
