Day ONE...
Saturday, October 15th, 2011
Instead of staying around the Quad Cities, we ventured out across Iowa in search of family members final resting places from generations past. To get enough time in the day started off before sun up.

At Des Moines, we headed south to head for Southwestern Iowa for our rural destination.

At Osceola we headed west along U.S. 34 to Corning. Here we started to reseach at the Corning library. After which we set out to find an old cemetary in Adams County. One thing we did find is that this is Johnny Carson country.

Next we set off to see a Civil War monument in Bedford. Next a circle up to Omaha for dinner. Along the way we found the home of Glenn Miller.

Now to State #3...Nebraska!!
Back to State #2...Iowa!!

After a bite to eat is was back across the vast farm land that is Iowa to the Quad Cities.
