Day ONE...

The much anticipated road trip to the east was an eventful one. This was over two years in the making. Plans revoled around a Boston Red Sox game at Fenway, then working the way down the Atlantic coast. Plans called for the trip to start in the early hours of Sunday, the 5th, but a late afternoon storm moved across Norhtern Illinois, resulting in downed power lines in the Southern Will County Area. The good folks at ComEd, said they know that aprox. 90 homes were without power, but did not know the cause.
This was two homes down from the house. Even though I am not a skilled worker of ComEd, I think I know why there was no power...but I could be wrong.
With no power and the temperature climbing, we started the trip early. The late minute plans change sent us to Elkhart, Indiana.
Now to State 2!!...Indiana...

Along our way across the Indiana East-West Toll Road, we were given a great show of fireworks, west of South Bend.
