North of Colona is the junction between the north-south line of the BNSF Railway, and the east-west line of the Iowa Interstate Railroad. The BNSF line is on the Barstow Subdivision. While the Iowa Interstate is the former main line of the Chicago, Rock Island, & Pacific.
