Just north of the Portage exit on the Indiana East-West Toll Road, and south of the Indiana 249 exit on Interstate 94 is the crossing between the Norfolk Southern and the CSX. The Norfolk Southern line runs along the former New York Central line. While the CSX line runs along the former Baltimore & Ohio railroad. The main road between the two highways is elevated over both rail line,; yet the crossing is just east of the grade crossing with Willowcreek Road.
