In the Village of Matteson the Canadian National has two lines that cross each other. The elevated north-south line of the Canadian National was the former Illinois Central. On this elevated line also runs the Metra-Electric Line. Running east-west at ground level is the Canadian National line that was the former Elgin, Joliet, & Eastern.
