This communter rail line is owned and operated by Metra. Previously this was owned and operated by the Illinois Central Railroad. It is the only line on the Metra system that is electric powered. This line branches off of the main line south of former 67th Street Station, and runs east-southeast to South Chicago-93rd Street.
