On the southside of the New Lenox, the Metra Southwest Service line, former Wabash & Norfolk Western railroad, cross over the Elgin, Joliet, & Eastern railroad. The Ej&E runs east-west, with the Metra line crosing over it. Some maps indicate that there was a connection between the two lines on the southeast corner of the intersection. This has since been removed. The junction is east of Cedar Road, and can be seen from the Cedar Road grade crossing.
