In Hammond near the intersection of Osborn Ave. and 167th Street is the junction known as Osborn. The north-south line here is run by the Indiana Harbor Belt on what is an extension of the Kankakee Line. This is a bypass around the Chicago Area that runs traffic off of the BNSF line near Streator, Illinois to the Norfolk Southern Chicago District, Lake Division.
