Pine Junction is located north of the Gary International Airport in a heavy industrialized area of Gary. This is located north of the Indiana East-West Toll Road and east of Indiana 912 (Cline Ave.). This is currently used by the Norfolk Southern, Canadian National, and the CSX. It is made up of line of the former Elgin, Joliet, & Eastern (now CN), Baltimore & Ohio (now CSX), New York Central (now NS). At one time Pine Junction was also served by the Pennsylvania Railroad, and the Wabash Railroad.
