On the northeast side of the Village of Dwight the Norfolk Southern line and the Union Pacific line cross each other. The NS line runs from Kankakee to Streator. While the UP line runs north-south from Joilet to Bloomington-Normal. The junction is located just east of the grade crossing on Illinois 47 and the Norfolk Southern railroad.
