The City of Chester is located on the eastern bluffs of the Mississippi River. It is the county seat for Randolph County. This city is served by Illinois 3, Illinois 150, The Great River Road, Missouri 51, and the Union Pacific railroad. Chester is known as being the "Home of Popeye". The created of the cartoon was from Chester. At the Illinois entracnce to the Chester Bridge across the Mississippi River is a statue to Popeye.
