The Village of Hazel Crest is located in Southern Cook County. It is at the junction of Interstate 57, and Interstate 294. Hazel Crest was settled in 1870 as South Harvey. In 1900 the name was changed to Hazel Crest, after all the hazelnut brush that grew south of town. It was incorporated in 1912.
