U.S. Federal Route 61 is one of the main highways in Scott County. West of the Quad-Cities it is a east-west four-lane divided highway. From Davenport to the north, it is a expressway into Clinton County.
In 2010, U.S. Rt. 61 was re-routed in the Quad Cities Area. This highway was routed around the interstates of the Iowa portion of the metro.
