Interstate 295 runs very briefly in Southern Maryland. It goes from Interstate 95/495 on the Maryland edge of the Potomac River. The length within the state of Maryland is less than one mile. When it enters Washinton D.C. it continues as I-295 to the 11th Street Bridges. North of the 11th Street Bridges this path becomes D.C. Rt. 295 until the path reached the Maryland/D.C. line where it becomes unsigned Maryland State Route 295, then reaches the Capital Beltway, near Greenbelt.
While in Maryland, I-295 is not multi-plexed.
