In the Hegewisch neighborhood on the southeast side of the City of Chicago is a junction between a north-south single track of the Indiana Harbor Belt, an east-west line of the South Shore railroad, and an east-west line of the Norfolk Southern. The Norfolk Southern line runs along the former Nickle Plate Line. This is at the Illinois/Indiana State Line.
