The Village of New Berlin is located west of Springfield in Western Sangamon County. This is just south of Interstate 72, and U.S. 36. It is on Old U.S. 54, Sangamon County 10, and the Norfolk Southern railroad. The town was founded in 1865. New Berlin High School is one of two schools in the United States with the mascot of the pretzels.
