The City of Wentzville is located at the jucntion of Interstate 64, and Interstate 70 intersect. Wentzville was founded in 1855 as a stop on the Northern Missouri Railroad. It was named after a railroad engineer on the line. There were several fights between Union and Confederate troops along the rail line near town during the American Civil War.
