The Bishop Louis Henry Ford Freeway is the only freeway in the State of Illinois. This runs from the south-end of the Dan Ryan Expressway at 95th Street to the Tri-State Tollway (Interstate 80/294)/Kingery Expressway (Interstate 80/94).
Portions of this highway from 159th Street to the Tri-State Tollway/Kingery Expressway are one of the first expressways in Chicago. The orignial name was of this highway was the Calumet Expressway.
