The Lincoln Highway breaks from the U.S. 30 corridor just east of the Cedar/Linn County Line. It runs into the heart of Cedar Rapids; while U.S. 30 runs on an expressway on the southern side of Cedar Rapids.

At Cedar Rapids, the Lincoln Highway runs along Mt. Vernon Road into Downtown Cedar Rapids. This is where it turns and runs along 1st Ave E and 1st Ave W; while crossing Mays Island in the Cedar River. The Lincoln Highway briefly runs along 15th Street NW to Maple Drive NW to Johnson Ave NW. After a good distance along Johnson Ave NW, the Lincoln Highway joins 16th Ave SW. On the sotuhwest side of Cedar Rapids, the highway heads south on 80th Street SW briefly. When 80th Ave Sw comes to U.S. 30/218, the Lincoln Highway heads west along U.S. 30/218.
