Interstate 99

Interstate 99 is a north-south interstate highway in Western Pennsylvania. It currently runs from Intersrtate 70/79; Pennsylvania Turnpike, near Bedford, to Interstate 80, near Bellefonte. This highway defies the standard interstate highway numbering order. I-99 was approved and first signed in 1998.

There are future plans to extend Interstate 99 from Interstate 80 to the Pennsylvania/New York State Line, near Lindley, New York. This would then connect the section of I-99 in New York State to the current section of I-99 in Pennsylvania.

While in Pennsylvania, I-99 is multi-plexed.

Interstate 70 (Pennsylvania Turnpike), near Bedford.
Interstate 76 (Pennsylvania Turnpike), near Bedford.
Interstate 80. near Bellefonte.

There are no branches of I-99 in Pennsylvania.
