Pennyrile Parkway

The Edward T. Breathitt Pennyrile Parkway runs north-south in Central Kentucky. This parkway runs from Henderson to Hopkinsville.

Like interstates, the exits are numbered. The entire has not route number marked on it.

The 2002 Kentucky State Map shows the Pennyrile Pkwy from Henderson to the Western KY Pkwy as being in the works to become part of I-69. South of Hopkinsville, the state map shows the future extention of the parkway to Interstate 24.

A contract for the first stage of the extention has been awarded. The first section will go from ALT. U.S. Rt. 41 to BY-PASS U.S. Rt. 68. This will cost $25 million to build. It will be 1.8 miles in length. The parkway will eventually connect to I-24.*

The ETB Pennyrile Pkwy. does not cross any interstate.

The ETB Pennyrile Pkwy. crosses the following parkways.

John James Audubon Parkway (Toll Road), at Henderson.
Wendall H. Ford Western Kentucky Parkway, near Nortonville.

The interchange with ALT U.S. Rt. 41 is the end to the Pennyrile Pkwy.

SB Pennyrile ends in a cloverleaf ramp to ALT U.S. Rt. 41.

All traffic is forced off here. ALT. U.S. Rt. 41 takes traffic to I-24 about 9 miles to the south.
