The original alignment takes you through downttown. It is marked with a "1926-1930" banner. This alignment heads south along Kickapoo from the corner of Kickapoo and Keokuk (BUSN Loop I-55 & Illinois 10/121). At the courthouse square it turns west on Broadway and crosses the Union Pacific Railroad (ex- Chicago & Alton, GM&O) on the southside of the train depot. One block west of the railroad is Logan Street. This is where the 1926-1930 alignment rejoins the 1930-1940 alignment.
