DeKalb to Rochelle
From the intersection of Illinois 23/38 and the Union Pacific Railroad (ex Chicago, Northwestern) the Lincoln Highway runs west to Rochelle, it follows Illinois 38. Once in Rochelle it turns down Lincoln Highway. Then turn west along Lincoln Avenue.
De Kalb
In De Kalb, the Lincoln Highway runs east-west along Illinois 38. It goes past the entrance to Northern Illinois University.
